Steve was born Oct. 23, 1955, in Davenport, the son of Elmer and Ruth (Jacobsen) Jurgens.  He graduated from North Scott High School in 1973.  On April 6, 1979, Steve was united in marriage to Cheryl Drumm in Davenport. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer; sister, Linda Jurgens; and father-in-law, Don Drumm.

The family would like to thank the health care workers at the Mayo Clinic, University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and hospice workers for their compassionate care and support throughout Steve’s courageous battle with lung cancer.
