Obituary: Rebecca Wentworth

Rebecca (Becky) Lyn Wentworth, 59, of Davenport, passed away on May 26, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family. Memorial services were Friday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with burial at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, May 30, from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Becky was born Dec. 9, 1964, in Davenport, to Donald and Janet Hamann.

Becky’s vibrant life was upended when she was diagnosed with ALS in 2021. She chose to live life to the absolute fullest over the past four years, traveling the country and spending time with her closest friends and family. She wants everyone to know she fought incredibly hard.

In 1988, Becky married Art Wentworth. Throughout her life, Becky loved spending time in nature, camping across the country, and watching the sunset at her favorite lake in northern Wisconsin. She was a dedicated mother, raising three ambitious children with an unwavering determination to see them thrive. Becky worked and volunteered for many organizations, including United Egg Producers and The North Scott Press.

Becky graduated from North Scott Senior High School in Eldridge in 1983.

Becky is survived by her husband, Art Wentworth of Davenport, her children, Tyler Wentworth (Alyn Guay) of San Diego, Calif., Jacob (Michelle) Wentworth of Davenport, and Jennifer Wentworth of Des Moines; sisters Lisa (Ken) Farrar of Windsor, Colo., and Kathy (Harry) Nolan of Rigby, Idaho; her aunt: Elaine Kresse of Davenport, nieces, cousins, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, and her brothers.
