Margaret M. Parrott, 81, a former resident of Park View, died on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Harmony Utica Ridge in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 12 p.m. at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.
Margaret was born on Feb. 3, 1943, in Phillipsburg, N.J., the daughter of Steven and Mildred (Rush) Lubowicki. On Feb. 16, 1962, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Feb. 15, 1965.
She was united in marriage to Jerry L. Parrott in Princeton, Iowa on her birthday, Feb. 3, 1973. Jerry preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2011.
Margaret was a familiar face at the Eldridge Tru-Value Hardware Store, where she worked for many years. In earlier years, she was employed at the former Montgomery Ward store in Northpark Mall in Davenport.
She was a devoted wife, mom and grandma who loved to crochet and knit in her spare time.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Angela (Chad) Ingwersen of Eldridge; her son, Steve (Carrie) Parrott of Long Grove; her grandchildren, Isabella, Dylan and Elizabeth; and her sisters, Debbie Lubowicki of Philadelphia, Pa., and Suzie Lubowicki of Belvidere, N.J.
