Obituary: Judith Schwarz

Judith L. Schwarz, 79, of Eldridge, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, following a long battle with breast cancer.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. in the Runge Chapel, and burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the McCausland Fire Department or to the Kahl Home.  Please share condolences at www.rungemortuary.com.

Judy was born Aug. 16, 1944, in Davenport to Richard and Louise (Griffith) Hueser.  She was united in marriage to Dale E. Schwarz on Feb. 10, 1968, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport.  Judy was an LPN and had worked at the Visiting Nurses, Davenport Lutheran Home, and the Kahl Home prior to her retirement. In her earlier years she was part of a volleyball group, she had a strong passion for sports and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. She belonged to several card clubs, was a voracious reader, and was prolific at crocheting, making numerous afghans for family and friends.  Her favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren and enjoying all of the activities they were involved in.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dale Schwarz, Eldridge; two daughters, Jenny (Bruce) Mace, DeWitt, and Ann (James) Jekel, Tinley Park, Ill.; son, Bill (Jenny) Schwarz, Eldridge; 10 grandchildren, Jake Wiepert, Ally (Adam) Henningsen, Zach Mace, Nikki, Justin and Bethany Schwarz, Kira, Alex, Katie and Grace Jekel; one great-granddaughter Mila; brothers, Dick (Deanna) Hueser and David (Linda) Hueser; and several nieces and nephews.
