Vera Price Boyd, 92, of Davenport, passed away from complications after a fall, on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. She was surrounded by her family. Services were Monday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation was Monday from noon until the 2 p.m. service, at the mortuary. She was laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Vera was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Morrison, Iowa, to Arthur and Sophia (Bulthuis) Collings. She married Stephen Price Jr. in 1949. to whom four children were born: Debra, Stephen “Randy,” Vicky and James. She married Otis D. “Big O” Boyd on April 10, 1991. They moved to Silvercrest Garner Farms in 2018. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2019. They had many happy years together. She had numerous jobs including being a Realtor, insurance secretary and a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal prior to her retirement.
Family was her life and she loved spending time with all of them.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stephen “Randy” (Carol) Price, Orion, Ill., Vicky (Steven) Price Clark, Donahue; stepchildren: Carol Boyd, Sioux City, Bart (Lourie) Boyd, Arizona, and Clyde (Pat) Boyd Midland, Mich.; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Otis, Vera was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Friederichs; son, James Kendall Price, in infancy; four sisters; and one brother.
