Mark Daniel Feldpausch, age 41, of Hamilton, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon on July 17 at the Comfort House Hospice of Pella, surrounded by his loving family, following an almost two-year battle with cancer.

Mark Daniel Feldpausch was born on June 21, 1982, in Davenport. He was a graduate of Moravia High School, where he played many sports. He then went on to have a career at Pella Corporation and then transitioned to John Deere, where he currently worked for 16 years. The community has appreciated his contributions over the years to his local union 74.

Mark was benevolent and loving in an apparent way. It was in his nature to love and to protect those he loved. Even in the last moments of his life his personality never faltered. Although his battle with cancer was beyond detrimental to himself, he never failed to consider the thoughts and emotions of those he cherished. Even without a physical form, Mark watches over his loved ones with the same fervor he’s always held. Mark loved his family, and his children more than anything else; and he enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it be in the sun, waiting for fish to bite, or in the woods hunting deer. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor, his unrelenting love for his family, his strong morals and work ethic, and most of all for his gentle personality.

Mark is survived by his wife of nearly 16 years, Trinette, and his son Zane of Hamilton; daughters Brooke (Tanner) Miedema of Monroe, Iowa, and Stormie DeShaw of Hamilton; his dad, Richard (Carol) Feldpausch of Donahue; and his mom, Janet Hollinrake of Lovilla, Iowa; his sisters Jessica (Brian) Geiken of Ankeny, and Desiree (Logan) Shives of Knoxville; his stepsisters, Renae Mickey of Davenport, and Ellen Franks of Moline; his nieces, Abby Geiken, Blakely Shives; and his nephew, Zachary Geiken; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents Harold and Verna Feldpausch and John and Patricia Janakas.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Ray’s Pub in Donahue.
