Cynthia K. Crain, 46, of Park View, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 23, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City.

Funeral services took place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Eldridge United Methodist Church. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday at the church. Burial was at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for Cynthia’s daughters’ college funds. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, assisted the family with arrangements.

Cynthia was born Aug. 31, 1975, in Conway, Ark., the daughter of Norman of Sharon (Oxley) Burdess. On Oct. 16, 1999, she married Cory Crain in Nevada, Iowa.

She attended Des Moines Community College and Iowa State University. She had been working at The North Scott Press in the circulation department for the past six and a half years. She was a member of Eldridge United Methodist Church, Park View Women’s Club, and was an avid reader.

Cynthia was a devoted mother to her three daughters, and their biggest fan at their events, cheering them on to be the best they could be. She loved her husband unconditionally and selflessly. She committed her life to her family and encouraged them in everything they did.

    Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Cory Crain, and daughters, Aundrea, Reese and Taylor, all of Park View; mother, Sharon (Gary) Harp of Sheridan, Ark.; brothers, Timothy (Christina) Burdess of Sheridan, Matthew (Rae) Burdess of Prescott, Ark.; brother-in-law, Shawn (Tricia) Crain of Nevada, Iowa; mother-in-law, Nancy Crain of Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Burdess; father-in-law, Darrel Crain; and her beloved black Lab, Otis.
