He was born on Nov. 13, 1929, in Davenport. He was married to Erna Pinnow Kuehl, who predeceased him in 1983. He later married Deanna Jenkins Kuehl on July 6, 1985, in Davenport.
Richard was a career agriculturist, farming in Scott County until his retirement in 2000.
Richard enjoys visiting with friends, eating out, traveling, reading, watching sports on TV, cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Iowa State Cyclones, tending to his Kentucky acreage and spending time with his family and his dog June.
He is the father of Tracey Kuehl (John Hintze) of Davenport, Lisa Kuehl (Connie Rex Younger) of Ames, and Richard “Rick” (Tina) Jenkins of Harrodsburg.
His grandchildren are Erin (Jenkins) Kelley, Keith Younger and Susan (Younger) Gauvin. He has three great-grandchildren.
