It was another Special Day for North Scott's Special Olympians on Wednesday, May 22, when they were honored at the Special Runners for Special People aud at North Scott High School. The event provided a proper send-off for the 10 high school students who made the 199-mile trek to Ames, running alternating two-mile stretches, while raising $13,826.50 for Special Olympics. In addition, the Special Olympians who competed at the state event the following weekend were introduced to rousing rounds of applause in The Pit. NSP photos by Scott Campbell and Mark Ridolfi.
