North Scott juniors and seniors got a reminder that life is short and that their choices matter after watching a presentation of Operation Prom on May 16. The simulation featured a head-on car crash caused by a drunk driver. Area first responders, including the Eldridge police and fire departments, MEDIC EMS, and Medforce helicopter responded to the scene, as did a hearse from Chambers Funeral Home. After the simulation, students were also invited to try out a "seatbelt convincer," which simulates the feeling of a car crash at just five-to-seven miles per hour. NSP photos by Erin M. Gentz.
