When the North Scott Educational Foundation began awarding scholarships in 1986, it was only able to award a single, $500 scholarship.

Each year since, with the addition of increased contributions from generous community members and the growth of the endowment, more scholarships have been added.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors for the North Scott Educational Foundation, we were incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our students by awarding 88 scholarships totaling over $131,000 to the best of North Scott’s Class of 2025," said Foundation co-president Leah Lahann-Allen.

"The North Scott Educational Foundation was established in 1985 and awarded the first scholarship in 1986," said Lahann-Allen. "In 1986, our first and only scholarship of $500 was awarded to senior Sara Stephens. It’s exciting to see the growth since then with a new total of over $2.3 million awarded since inception. We are thrilled with our growth momentum as we enter the 40th year and look forward to celebrating this milestone with the community in the coming months.

"North Scott is a special place to live and raise a family. Our scholarships were all provided by an incredibly supportive and generous community who feel that our students are worth the investment to continue their education and training past high school graduation."

The Foundation awarded one new scholarship this year, the "Smile Like Zoey" Zoey Carney Memorial Scholarship.

North Scott Educational Foundation board members include: Leah Lahann-Allen (co-president), Shelli Engelbrecht (co-president), Susan Blaskovich (secretary), Seth Porter (treasurer), Scott Campbell, Brad Carmody, Brad Greve, Jay Johnson, Mindy Leahy, Tracy Lindaman, Judi Sarafin, Dave Schnorrenberg and Debbie Shannon.
