Opolkas to note 50th anniversary with open house

John and Pamela Opolka of Princeton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Sept. 7. All friends and relatives are invited to join them from 2-6 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 204 Highway 67, Princeton. No gifts, please.

Pamela Johnson and John Opolka were married Sept. 7, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, Ill.

Mr. Opolka was employed as a dental technician at Great River Dental Studio, retiring in 2018.

Mrs. Opolka was employed as a dental hygienist at Kimberly Park Dental Associates. She is currently working as a sub, but is planning on retiring fully in mid-2025.

They are the parents of Sarah (Kevin) Zalanowski of Sun Prairie, Wis., Rebecca Opolka of Davenport, and Amanda (Ryan) Strom of Eldridge.

Their grandchildren are Nolan and Nora Zalanowksi and Harper, Sullivan and Shepherd Strom.
