The North Scott School District learned Wednesday Lancer Stadium has been approved for occupancy.
State officials discovered Legat Architects had failed to file the original paperwork to begin construction. Superintendent Joe Stutting said at Monday’s school board meeting that Legat subsequently filed and paid the associated fees, but the process was still in limbo for several days.
The schedule of events for Friday night's opening festivities includes:
• Freshman football game at 5 p.m.
• Tours of the welding and manufacturing lab from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (hands must be stamped for reentry to Lancer Stadium)
• Welcome statement at approximately 7 p.m. (after freshman game)
• Ribbon cutting at 7:10 p.m.
Varsity football game against Davenport Assumption at 7:30 p.m.
