Festivities in Donahue began with live music Friday evening, and continued with softball and volleyball on Saturday. On Sunday, 1st Avenue and Main Street filled with paraders and parade-goers. Youngsters eager for Tootsie rolls and Dum-Dums hoisted plastic bags to the air, where obliging fire departments filled them with treats.
In the afternoon, judges sample 31 pies: seven in the junior division, 15 in the senior division, and nine in the liquid division. Meanwhile, rubber ducks raced from the coop silos to the Sportsman Park creek — winning one lucky Donahuite $1,000.
