North Scott fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders competed March 7 in the Battle of the Books, an intense quiz of material in 30 books, at the Scott County Library headquarters in Eldridge.
Grissom captured its third consecutive title with a team of Sedi Beydler, Mallory Deutmeyer and Emily Stutting. The team advances to regional competition. Ed White placed second; Shepard third, Armstrong, fourth and John Glenn, fifth.
