Friends Easton Beaudry, Blake Cornett and Adam Schneckloth ride the trail on Night Out, and many other days. Cornett says he rides at least once a week. Schneckloth says he uses the trail to get to friends' homes, and for exercise. "My mom makes me do it," he said.

Marc and Angela Gaskin, of Long Grove, drew a tribute to student Blake Mallinger on the trail. The Gaskins use the trail, "all the time," Marc said. They walk with their grandkids as often as possible. "This is the best thing they've ever done for our community," Angela said. "I see more people out here moving than we ever did."

Natalie Kelly joins the Night Out with kids Ambellina, 5, Oliver, 2 and Rowan, nine months. Natalie says her family are regular trail users. "I put the baby in the jogging stroller and just go," Natalie said.
