Blue Grass American Legion participated in both the Blue Grass and Buffalo Elementary Schools’ 5th Grade Award Celebration/Ceremonies on May 29, presenting the American Legion’s Fifth Grade Flag Essay Contest awards and certificates to all the participants. The 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest consists of a one-page, double spaced, no more than 300 words, 12 pitch-type written, original effort of the student titled, “WHAT THE FLAG MEANS TO ME.” The essays are judged on four topics: Originality, Logic, Facts/Comprehension and Grammar /Spelling. more
