Alberta Helen Wagaman, 93, of Tipton, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 (today), at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Tipton, with burial to follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church.
Alberta was born Feb. 11, 1932, at home in rural Moscow to Fritz and Minnie (Freese) Kuehl. She graduated from Wilton High School and earned her teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1950. She married Richard L. Wagaman in 1952, and together they farmed and raised a family near Wilton.
She taught in local schools and was a founding vendor at the Davenport Farmers Market and the Iowa City Rec Center. A devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Alberta was known for her faith, hospitality, and homemade cooking.
Survivors include her son Rocky (Sara) Wagaman; daughter-in-law Brenda Wagaman; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; sons, Cam and Sharm; and grandson, Andrew.
