After his military service, Norm worked for Northwestern Bell, retiring from Century Link in 2007.  He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and riding his e-bike on local trails and around town.  He was a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan and loved watching sports on TV, especially Cyclone and Hawkeye football and basketball.  Most of all, Norm loved spending time with his grandkids.

Norm will be dearly missed by his wife, Barb; two daughters, Amy (David) Freeborn of Dacula, Ga., and Carrie (Robert) Arlen of Wilton; five grandchildren, Katie Freeborn, Ashley (Jackson) Hood, Nathan Freeborn, Ewan Arlen and Rhys Arlen; seven great-grandchildren, Elias, Penelope, Remy, Amelia, Banks, Baker and Bohdi; and one sister, Joanne Ray of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth; a sister, Janet Meneke; and one nephew, Dave Meneke.

The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice for their care and guidance over the past few months.
