Geraldine S. Marolf, age 88, of Walcott, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Better Living of Walcott. A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Geraldine was born on April 19, 1938, the daughter of Frank and Genevieve (Riddle) Broders. She married George E. Marolf on May 20, 1956. George died on Aug. 26, 2020.
Gerry lived her life with a true passion for life, embracing each day with creativity and joy. She spent time bartending at Idle Hour Lanes, where her friendly personali-ty and warm smile made her a favorite among patrons. Gerry also served as a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse at the Bethesda Care Center in Mediapolis, caring for others with the same kindness she showed her own family.
A gifted and passionate artist, Gerry loved to paint, create jewelry, and craft sock blankets for those she loved. Her hands were rarely still, and her creativity was a reflection of her generous heart. She found simple pleasures in life, including relaxing with her favorite programs on the Hallmark Channel. Above all, Gerry was an incredible mother. She had a special way of giving advice that comforted, en-couraged, and lifted spirits. Her love for her family was unmatched, and they were the center of her world. Gerry cherished her time at Better Living of Walcott, where she formed many meaningful friendships and truly enjoyed her community.
Geraldine will be dearly missed by six children, Jeff Marolf of Burlington; Mike (Suzanne) Marolf of Bradenton, Fla.; Wanda (Carl) Winstead of Hartselle, Ala.; Lynette (Jim) Buesing of Stockton; Sandra (David) Janssen of Sperry; and Kyle (J.B.) Marolf of Oslo, Norway; 16 grand-children; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Frank "Pete" (Rita) Broders, Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Jo Ann and Darlene Broders.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Genevieve Broders; husband, George; and two brothers, Jack and Joel Broders.
