Carolyn F. Tharp, 76, of Wilton, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at the Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at the Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Wilton. Carolyn was born in Muscatine on Oct. 6, 1947, to Roy and Helen (Showalter) Hinkhouse. She married Dennis Tharp on Feb. 3, 1968, in Wilton. Dennis passed away on May 13, 2019.
Carolyn worked in the cafeteria at the Wilton Community Schools retiring in 2009. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Wilton. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and crocheting.
Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Richard Tharp of Wilton, Jason (Julia) Tharp of Burlington, IA and Matthew (Birgeetta) Tharp of Wilton; five grandchildern, Jordan, Joshua, Grace, Morgen and Annabelle; sisters: Janet (Paul) Drumm and Mary Jean (Jerry) Mortensen; and brother, Lysle (Joanne) Hinkhouse all of Wilton.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis.
