Lorin L. Fox, 86, of Durant, Iowa, went to be with his heavenly Savior on Dec. 31, 2023, after a brief illness. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. Burial will take place in Durant Cemetery. Lorin was born on May 12, 1937, the son of Oscar and Mabel (Kelting) Fox in Wheatland, Iowa. He attended Red Oak Country School and graduated from Wheatland High School with the Class of 1955 and American Institute of Commerce in 1957.
Lorin married Mabyn Jensen on May 5, 1957. She preceded him in death in June of 2005.
Lorin married Dorothy J. Berner on October 14, 2006.
Lorin worked for Meadows Transfer Company and River Valley Finance Company before starting at Liberty Trust and Savings Bank in Durant on Aug 1, 1958. He retired from banking in January of 2000.
Lorin will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorothy; five children, Lori (Gary Sacry) Fox, Lisa (Kelvin) Wold, David (Tracy) Fox, Dan (Beth) Fox, and Kathryn (Gary) Hydorn; fourteen grandchildren, Nathaniel (Darlene Lloyd) McCoy, Krystina (Doug) Burns, Benjamin (Minda) McCoy, Allison (Nick) Lindquist, Ryan, Erika, and Abigail Wold, Aaron (Lexi) Fox, Olivia (Braxton) George, Emma Fox, Laura and Anna Fox, Bradley (Elizabeth) Hydorn, and Brennan Hydorn; four great-grandchildren, Darcie Burns, Jackson Wold, and Kathryn and Kaiya Hydorn; and one sister, Joyce (Larre) Petersen.
