Obituary: Wilmer Bauer

Wilmer Frederick “Wil” Bauer, Jr., 82, died unexpectedly at home Aug. 31, 2023. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 (today), at Weerts Funeral Home. Wil was born in Riverside, N.J., in 1941. He married Emily “Cyndy” Walker in Jefferson City, Mo., in 1962.

He worked 35 years for John Deere, including Industrial Equipment Division, Davenport Works, and Construction Equipment Division. He retired in 2001 as a Deere Area Parts Marketing Manager in Columbus, Ohio.

He was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Emily “Cyndy”; daughters, Theresa “Terry” and her husband, Christian J. Gentz, Long Grove; and Kristine “Kristy” and her husband Brad Dose of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Walker, Aurora, Alauna (Joe Brodersen), Owen, and Wyatt Gentz; and Elizabeth “Ellie” and Emily Dose, St. Louis, Mo.; and cousin Barbara and her husband Aaron Harvey, Dana, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Wilmer F. Bauer, Sr.
