Obituary: Timothy Lawlor

A memorial service for Timothy G. Lawlor, 67, of Davenport, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Big Rock. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Lawlor died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at The University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born Dec. 3, 1951. He received an associate of arts degree from Scott Community College with a major in English. He attended English classes at Marycrest College and received a fiction writing award from the head of the English department.

He was employed at Milestones at St. Ambrose University and was a manager at Jack and Jill in Ridgeview.

He was lead chairperson for several community support groups.

His hobbies were reading and writing, especially poetry, playing golf, watching football, and playing the piano.

Survivors include his son, Bradley (Rachel) Lawlor, St. Joseph, Mo.; and his siblings, Sue (Tom) Rosella, Phoenix, Ariz., Sheila Lawlor, Parker, Colo., Mary (John) Blyth, Des Moines, Jim Lawlor, La Jolla, Calif., Theresa (Robert) White, Eldridge, Kathleen Lawlor, Chicago, and Lori (Leo) Wertish Hernandez, Miramar, Fla.   

He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Lawlor; his mother, Lucille Lawlor Wertish; and his father, Robert Lawlor.
