Obituary: Shirley Weber

A service celebrating the life of Shirley M. Weber, 78, of Eldridge, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation was Friday, April 26, from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mrs. Weber died Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at her home.

Shirley Danielsen was born May 9, 1940, in Davenport, the daughter of Cornelius and Margaret (Stauffer) Danielsen. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1958.

She married Joseph Weber III on Aug. 16, 1958, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. He died in 2008.

She was employed at General Electric for 23 years, and then Turner Appliance for 10 years before retiring.

She was a member of Park View Lutheran Church, where she was the Prayer Chain coordinator for many years.

Her hobbies were spending time with her family, reading, working in her yard, bowling, and watching sports.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Jeff) Morris, Park View; her grandsons, Mitchell (Sadie) Morris, Matthew (Emily) Morris, and Jacob (Briar) Morris; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Frances (John) Harris, Alabaster, Ala., and Judy (Bill) Collier, Blue Grass; and her brothers, Larry (Shirley) Danielsen, Davenport, and Jack (Joan) Danielsen, Plymouth, Minn.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Aye Arnold; a brother, Fred “Sonny” Danielsen; her sisters-in-law, Billie Goode and Barb Long; and her brothers-in-law, Louis Weber, Jerry Aye, Clarence Heim, Mel Goode, and Duane Long.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Park View Lutheran Church.
