A memorial service celebrating the life of Roger D. Woomert, 80, of Princeton, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial was in Rock Island National Cemetery, where military rites were conducted. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 10, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Woomert died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, at his home.
Roger Woomert was born Feb. 26, 1943, in Davenport, the son of Harold B. and Mildred E. (Gast) Woomert.
He married Karen S. Robertson on Sept. 26, 2009, at Harold B. Woomert Park in Princeton.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; his daughters, Tracy Woomert, Washington, Iowa, and Raechel (Ryan) Bump, Port Byron, Ill.; his sons, Tim (Lori) Woomert, Streamwood, Ill., Chris (Jenny) Woomert, Bettendorf, Terry Woomert, Princeton, and Josh (Dena) Genz, Port Byron; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Bonita (Denny) Squire, Geneseo, Ill.
