Obituary: Richard Graff

A funeral service for Richard P. Graff, 92, of Davenport, will be held at noon on Thursday, June 28, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27 (today), from 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mr. Graff died Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Richard Graff was born March 8, 1926, in Muscatine, the son of Lester and Susan (Hoeksema) Graff.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart.

He married Permilla Conner on Dec. 31, 1948, in Davenport. She died Dec. 8, 2003.

He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1978 after 35 years of service.

His hobbies were golfing, building things, tinkering around in the basement, and camping with his family.

Survivors include his children, Linda (Steve) Huecksteadt, Bettendorf, Bruce (Kandi) Graff, Hopkinsville, Ky., Dawne Graff, and Rebecca (Daniel) Hill, all of Davenport; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine Graff.
