A funeral service for Michael “Mike” Kroening, 60, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport.
Mr. Kroening died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Michael Kroening was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Davenport, the son of Juergen and Ingrid (Heinze) Kroening. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1976. He later earned a bachelor of arts degree in business from Upper Iowa University in 1991.
He married Jane Ripslinger on Nov. 7, 1987, in Davenport.
He was employed by Case New Holland for 40 years as a marketing manager.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Michael Kroening and Emily Kroening; his parents, Juergen and Ingrid Kroening; and a sister, Debbie Lensmeyer.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Lensmeyer.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Brittany’s Gifts, or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
