A funeral service for Loretta R. DeForest, 86, of Davenport, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 (today) at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. DeForest died Friday, April 19, 2019, at Davenport Lutheran Home.
Loretta Steinecke was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Scott County, the daughter of Harold and Rosella (Schumaker) Steinecke.
She married Gail DeForest in 1952 in Davenport. He died Dec. 16, 2011.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Gaylyn (Tim) Conklin; a son, Lawayne (Jenny) DeForest; her grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Birkmeier, Cathy (Adam) Hazen, Zach (Laura) DeForest, and Khristina (Vern) Woodford; two step-grandchildren; six-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Darwin and Glenn; her great-grandchildren, Ethan and Raylynn; and a brother, Darrell Steinecke.
