A funeral service for Karen E. Myles, 71, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5-8 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mrs. Myles died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Karen Allen was born Feb. 3, 1947, in Davenport, the daughter of Thomas and Jean Allen.
She married Billy Myles in 1972. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a financial analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal for 32 years prior to retirement.
Her hobbies were being outside, going to the movies, sitting down for coffee, getting lost in conversation, animals, nature, planting flowers and plants, interior design, crossword puzzles, cooking, listening to music, going to live concerts, and shopping.
Survivors include her children, Brice Myles, Los Angeles, Calif., Jason Myles, Davenport, and Melissa (Lonnie) Allen, San Diego, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Jeshon King and Julian Myles.
Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
