Delmar Lee Hoepner, 75, of Bettendorf, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at his home. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangement.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Davenport, the son of Ardis (Smith) and Delmar Hoepner Sr. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1961.
He served in the Iowa National Guard.
He worked as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal before retiring in 1993. He opened the Eldridge Bike Shop in 1982.
His hobbies were working on classic cars and collecting antique bicycles and cycling memorabilia.
Survivors include his children, Laura (James) Burks, Jamestown, Ind., and Robert Hoepner, Chicago; two grandchildren; a sister, Ardell (Don) Staub, Davenport; and a brother, Richard (Pam) Hoepner, Orlando, Fla.
