Curtis L. Brunsma, 78, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Nov. 29, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. He lost his battle with cancer.

Curt was born on June 7, 1940, in George, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Rachel Brunsma. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosa; three sons, David (Rachel) Brunsma, Brian (fiance Vicky Spoerry) Brunsma, and Mark (Kelly) Brunsma; seven grandchildren, Karina, Thomas, Henry, Alexa, Cole, Anthony, and Lex; and brother Meredith (Sue) Brunsma.

As a lifelong clothier, he took pride in helping people look their best, first at Richman Bros. throughout the Midwest, then at the Syndicate Hub in Davenport, and at Von Maur Northpark.

Curt was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was an active member of the Florissant, Mo., and North Scott Rotary clubs. In his personal life he was an avid Chicago White Sox and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Curt loved music and had an amazing singing voice that he shared with many people over the years – his 1957 homecoming dance, numerous community and church choirs, at weddings and funerals, and in his own living room. A loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and compassionate friend, Curt touched many lives and will be profoundly missed.

His request was that there be no memorial; however, condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com, and memorials may be sent to the family at 2205 Kimberly Rd., Bettendorf.
