Obituary: Connie Ross

A Celebration of Life service for Connie Pitsenbarger Ross, 61, of Melbourne, Fla., was held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Suntree United Methodist Church, Melbourne.

Mrs. Ross died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019.

Connie Pitsenbarger was born Oct. 29, 1957, in Davenport, the daughter of Orval and Wilma Pitsenbarger. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1976. She received a bachelor of arts degree from The University of Iowa in 1980, and a master of business administration degree from the University of Michigan in 1983.

She worked in the financial department at Harris Government Systems in Florida for 12 years, and then became a full-time mother and housewife.

She was an active member of Suntree United Methodist Church, a Girl Scout troop leader in the Citris Council for nine years, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

Survivors include her husband, Keighley Ross; her children, Alex Ross and Elizabeth (James) Powell; a grandchild, Layla Powell; her mother, Wilma Pitsenbarger, Eldridge; and her siblings, Susan (Mark) Arrasmith, LeClaire, Karen Baber, Rock Island, and John (Nancy) Pitsenbarger, Maynardville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orval Pitsenbarger.

Memorials may be made to Suntree United Methodist Church Women’s Ministries, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or Daughters of the American Revolution.
