Obituary: Burniece Dipple

A funeral service for Burniece Dipple, 102, of Davenport, will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery.

Mrs. Dipple died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society.

Burniece Johnson was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Shawnee, Okla., the daughter of Caleb and Conway (Brown) Johnson.

She married Melvin Sebastian. He preceded her in death. She later married Edwin Dipple. He died in March of 1985.

She was a lifetime member of the Blue Grass American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and watching basketball.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Sandra (Robert) Nelson, Carolyn Nosa, Glenn Sebastian, Deborah (Tim) Taylor, Greg (Julie) Sebastian, Teresa (Kelvin) Schonecke, Tracey (Robert) Mapel, Rodney (Michelle) Sebastian, and Robert (Lisha) Sebastian; 24 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Dee Sebastian; a son-in-law, Gene Young; and a sister-in-law, Evie Sebastian.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Beverly Young and Carolyn Sebastian; a son, Joe Sebastian; a grandson, Joe Sebastian Jr.; a great-great-granddaughter, Chelsea; and her sisters, Oriece and Mary.
