Dec. 1, 2004: Due to declining enrollment, Bennett High School was scheduled to close in the spring. However, the school planned to go out with a bang during its final Homecoming. Activities planned included a parade, a pep rally and bonfire, alumni recognition, and a public party. Since Bennett did not have a football team, they coordinated Homecoming with the basketball season.
