Edward B. "Ted" Glenney, age 75, of Wilton, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 11 (today), at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Memorials may be made to the Wilton Ambulance in his memory. Ted was born on Dec. 6, 1948, the son of Neil and Clarice (Laucamp) Glenney. He graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1967. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for six years.
Ted worked as a CAD specialist for Muscatine Power and Water, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed cruising around Wilton and stopping to visit with friends. Ted was a member of the Rochester and Wilton Masonic Lodges and the Wilton American Legion. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing Euchre at family gatherings. He was an animal lover and especially loved his cat, Tom.
Ted will be lovingly remembered by his son, Will (Jennifer Skidmore) Glenney of Muscat-ine; one granddaughter, Morgan Glenney; two brothers, Ross (Brenda) Glenney of Durant, and Bob (Sandy Caes) Glenney of Wilton; five nieces and nephews, Doug Glenney, Jodi Barclay, Tia Glenney, Tiffany (Philip) Hunt, and Kara Glenney; eight great-nieces and nephews, Cody, Austin, Braden, Noah and Kyleigh Barclay, Sawyer Glenney, PJ and Hayden Hunt.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Clarice.
