Mark Steven Meier, 67, of Sunbury, died April 23, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born to Roger Dale Meier of Sunbury and Joyce Darlene (Wiese) Meier of Wilton on Dec. 15, 1958, in Davenport. He earned an associate’s degree in aircraft maintenance technology. He had been working in the trucking business for most of his adult life and was last employed as a freight sales coordinator prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Iowa Bowling Association, where he served as the organization’s photographer for 47 years. He held a Hall of Fame title with them for his years of service and dedication. He was also an active member of the racing community as a sponsor.
He loved spending time with his two children and two grandchildren; capturing the smiles of his family and friends with photography; attending stock car races; attending music concerts at the fair; being in his garden; tinkering around in his garage; and enjoyed exploring new food and restaurants in the Quad City area.
Mark is survived by his children, Samantha Meier of Chandler, Ariz., Christopher Meier of Queen Creek, Ariz., step daughter Shawna Burrow of Davenport, Iowa; his grandsons, Jaiden and Eli (Samantha); his mother, Joyce (Wiese) Meier of Wilton; his siblings, Crystal Grunder and her husband Joseph of Wilton, Mary Keppy of Clinton, Barbara Budelier of New Liberty, and Matthew Meier of Wapello; his girlfriend, Bonnie of Sunbury; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Meier, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
