Margie was born on Dec. 18, 1958, the daughter of Everett and Margaret (Fadiga) Davis.  She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1977.  Margie married Kevin Giebelstein on Sept. 16, 1978, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant.

Margie dedicated many years to serving others through her work in banking. She began her career at Wilton Savings Bank as a teller and later continued with U.S. Bank in Tipton, where she retired in 2023. Throughout her career, she was known for her friendly smile.

A member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant, Margie found comfort and community in her church family.  Margie found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved flower gardening and took special delight in attracting hummingbirds and butterflies, as well as faithfully feeding her birds. She enjoyed antiquing, baking — especially her beloved red velvet cake — and spending time with her family. Margie was happiest when attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

She was a member of a card club and enjoyed playing Sequence with friends. Musical by nature, Margie loved to sing and whistle, often filling her home with light-hearted 70s tunes that reflected her joyful spirit.  Margie will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the quiet ways she made life more beautiful for those around her.

Margie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin; three children, Cory (Heather) Giebelstein of Bennett, Megan (Zach) Schneider of Wilton, and Chad (Kourtnay) Giebelstein of Bennett; six grandchildren, Clara, Tinley, Amelia, Lydia, Zayden, and Sawyer; five sisters, Robin (Bill) Hart of Durant, Regina Daniel of Durant, Amy (Steve) Sommers of Apple Valley, Minn., Linda (Tim Smith) Davis of Rock Island, and Peggy (Gideon Tzegaegbe) Davis of Lilburn, Ga.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Margaret; two daughters, LueAnn and Amber Giebelstein; and a brother-in-law, Chris Daniel.
