Joyce Darlene Coss, age 86, of Wilton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at her home.  A visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Klein Cemetery, Moscow.  Memorials may be made to the Wilton Public Library.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Joyce was born on March 17, 1939, the daughter of Mark "Mike" and Leona (Batchelor) McKillip in Muscatine.  She attended country school before graduating from Wilton High School with the Class of 1957.  Joyce married Jerry Coss on Nov. 21, 1964, in Atalissa. Jerry passed away on April 20, 2020.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. She spent much of her working life caring for others through food, serving as a cook at the Feed Shack and The Wooden Nickel in Wilton. Joyce especially enjoyed delivering lunches to Northstar Steel, where her friendly smile was as appreciated as the meals she brought. She was also a proud part owner of Pizzoo & More in Wilton.

In her spare time, Joyce found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved sewing and quilting, creating many quilts and blankets that will continue to warm the hearts and homes of her family and friends. She was an avid reader, especially fond of Westerns and Harlequin novels. Joyce also had a green thumb and took great pride in her houseplants and out-door flowers, particularly her rose bushes and lilacs.

Above all else, Joyce loved her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She will be fondly remembered for her honesty and humor—she was known for always “telling it like it is”—as well as playing Bingo with her family at holiday gatherings and her famous take-and-bake Christmas cookie dough. Joyce’s kindness, creativity, and straightforward spirit will be deeply missed, but her love lives on in the many lives she touched.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Deanna (Tim) Barrett and Michael (Melissa) Coss, both of Wilton; seven grandchildren, Max (Marisa) Barrett, Tucker (Olivia) Barrett, Brady (Karlie) Barrett, Emily Coss, Kaylee Coss, Audra Coss and Landon Coss; and three great-granddaughters, Ella, Blakely and Millie.

Joyce was preceded in death by her par-ents and her husband, Jerry.
