Nortons to celebrate 70th anniversary with open house

Don and Sue Norton of Durant will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house. Family and friends are invited to join the festivities beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Durant Community Center, 606 5th Ave., Durant.

Donald Norton and Susan McClean were married Nov. 27, 1955, at Wilton United Methodist Church, Wilton. Don's parents were B. Lee and Esther Norton of Wilton; Sue's parents were John and Josephine McClean of Wilton.

Don and Sue are the parents of Don Norton (Beth) of Lake Bluff, Ill.; Ron Norton (Jan) of Oscoda, Mich.; Richard Norton (Laura) of Taylorville, Ill.; and Stephanie Rodrick (Claudine) of Moscow.  Don and Sue are blessed with eight grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Don retired from Louis Rich in West Liberty after 30 years. Sue worked for many years at the Cove Restaurant in Moscow and they later owned and operated the Wilton Motel, Wilton, until its sale.

Please join them in celebration on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m. at the Durant Community Center, Durant. No gifts please — your presence is their greatest gift.
