Marian K. Neumann,65, of Davenport, formerly of Durant, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
A visitation was held Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial took place in Durant Cemetery. Marian was born on Jan. 5, 1958, the daughter of Raymond and Blanche (Kahler) Jepson in Davenport. She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1976.
After graduation, Marian attended Muscatine Community College and received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from St. Ambrose University. She married Kevin P. Neumann on Jan. 12, 1980, in Durant.
Marian began her teaching career in the Durant Community Schools, where she coached basketball, softball and golf. She taught in the Davenport Community School District for over 30 years, retiring in 2019 from Davenport West High School.
She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport and volunteered with the Durant Ambulance Service for many years.
Marian is survived and lovingly remembered by her children: Andrea Neumann (Ian Alexander) of Portland, OR and Ryan (Sarah Willhite) Neumann of Eldridge, IA; 2 grandsons, Ryker and Vance Neumann; sister, Cathryn Jepson of Durant; brothers: Mark (Ann) Jepson of Davenport and Randal Jepson of Cedar Rapids; and half sisters: Sandra (Kenneth) Leach of Wilton and Sharon Fell of Vanderbilt, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
