David “Kool-Aid” Duane King, age 69, of Wilton, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Wilton American Legion. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Dave was born in DeWitt on Feb. 12, 1955, the son of Duane and Jean (Jeffery) King.  He graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1973.  Dave married Evelyn Ramirez on Sept. 15, 1984, in Wilton. 

Dave worked for Bill Grunder & Sons in Wilton and later HAHN Ready-Mix before retiring.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting deer and turkey.  Dave also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was able to attend races at Talladega Superspeedway. Most of all, Dave loved spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Dave will be dearly missed by his wife, Evelyn; three daughters, Janna (Chad) Lehman, Denise (Zack) Etzel and Darci King, all of Wilton; six grandchildren, Alejandra, Kristina, Austin, Averi, Ansli, and Jackson; one great-granddaughter due in December;  his mother, Jean King of Wilton; two brothers, Randy (Michelle Bevins) King of Marion, and Jim (Kristy) King of Moscow; one sister, Sandy Crosslin of Argyle, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Duane.
