Brenda Joyce Poor, age 73, of Moscow, died on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Memorials may be given to Unity Point Hospice in her memory. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Brenda was born on March 22, 1950, in Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of Eldred and Viola (Giese) Meier. Brenda married Jerry Lee Poor on December 31, 1965, in Wilton. Jerry passed away on May 13, 2022.
Brenda worked for the United Stated Postal Service as the Postmaster in Moscow, retiring in 2014. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton. Brenda enjoyed word search puzzles and playing games on the computer. Most of all, Brenda loved spending time with her family.
Brenda will be dearly missed by her daughter, Joyce Busher of Moscow; son, Craig (Shawn) Poor of Letts, Iowa; four grandchildren, Ashley (Quinn) Mielenhausen, Megan (Ogechi) Anyaugo, Tanner (Ali) Poor and Kallie Poor; five great-grandchildren, Janessa, Brenna, Cutler, Shayne and Paris; two sisters, Cynthia (Jim) Hull of Moscow and Karen (Robert) Beatty of Muscatine; and one brother, Joe (Shelly) Meier of Muscatine.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry; and brothers-in-law, Bill Cole and John Poor.
