Advocate News Football Contest Dixie Hannes wins week five

Posted

Week 5 of the Advocate News Football Contest was very close among participants. So much so, that money will be split again this week, as two contestants tied for second, and there were several tied after that due to tie-breaker predictions. Therefore, the two tied for second will split the prize money for second and third place.

Also, the Wilton vs. Louisa-Muscatine game was canceled due to a forfeit from L-M. The game was not counted in this week’s contest.

The tie-breaker score was 43, the total number of points in Iowa’s 23-20 win over Penn State.

Dixie Hannes of Buffalo won first place this week, missing two games and guessing 62 for the tie-breaker. She will receive the $25 top prize.

Dave Fratzke and Troy Harmel tied for second place this week, each missing three games and having tie-breaker predictions of 44 and 42 respectively. They will split $25.

This week’s scores included: Durant 18, Mediapolis 7; Regina 26, West Branch 8; West Liberty 35, Tipton 14; Camanche 28, Northeast 14; Oklahoma 55, Texas 48; Ole Miss 52, Arkansas 51; Tennessee 45, South Carolina 20; Georgia 34, Auburn 10; Iowa 23, Penn State 20; Saints 33, Washington Football Team 22; Chargers 47, Browns 42; Bills 38, Chiefs 20.
