Last Friday, Kendell Durant and her daughter, Finley Durant, shared an update on their Thanksgiving meal donation campaign. As of November 14, the community has donated 22 full Thanksgiving meal kits to the Durant Food Pantry for distribution prior to the holiday.

Local veterans were recognized during the November 9 Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church. Prior to Mass, 4th grade religious education students adorned the Parish Hall in patriotic themed decorations including a homemade banner thanking veterans for their service.

Last week, the Wilton Fire Department officially announced that it would be acquiring a new ambulance for its department. It is estimated the ambulance will arrive in 60-90 days, with a maximum wait of 120 days.

The West Liberty School District is giving its congratulations to the 15 students who represented West Liberty’s band program at the River Valley Conference Honor Band, which performed last Thursday evening. These students practiced alongside other band students from across southeast Iowa prior to their evening performance.
