Judy Passmore

Judy A. Passmore, age 83, formerly of Atalissa, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 17, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. A funeral service took place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty, followed by burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine. Judith Ann was born on March 18, 1941, in Atalissa, to Louis and Lota (Hathaway) Gerdts. She graduated from Atalissa High School. On May 23, 1962, she married Dwight Passmore in Muscatine.

Judy was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. She had a passion for crafts, particularly crocheting, sewing, and knitting, and she took great joy in decorating for the holidays and gardening. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Dwight of Marion; her children: Steven (Vickie) Passmore of Kalona, Mark Passmore of Sturbridge, Mass., Annette (Jerry) Bartachek of Marion, Angela Passmore of Marion, Nathan Passmore of Spokane, Wash., and son-in-law Donnie Collins of Duffield, Va.; her sister Terri (David) Hansen of Muscatine; as well as 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Deanna Collins; grandson Dalton; brother Jim Gerdts; and sister Elaine Pagel.
