100 Women that Care gift $7,800 to the Muscatine County Fair Event Center

The Muscatine County Fair Event Center is receiving a $7,800 gift from the West Liberty 100 Women that Care chapter. The chapter meets four times a year and at each meeting three non-profit group suggestions are given by the chapter members as possibilities for donations. These non-profit suggestions are discussed by the group and a vote is taken to select the best recipient for the gift.  Each member contributes her own $100 check to the cause.  The West Liberty Chapter has given gifts to several non-profits in the West Liberty area to help fund several different projects totaling tens of thousands of dollars.

This gift does go towards matching the matching Kent Corporation gift of $500,000.

The new state-of-the-art Event Center will be a modern enhancement to the fairgrounds and will have capacity to host larger conferences, meetings, and events. There will also be updated technology in both the great room and meeting rooms.  It will have more robust kitchen facilities to accommodate catering and outdoor entertaining space.  These are all improvements over the current Activity Center.

“The 100 Women Who Care Comet Chapter has done a ton for our community,” said fair manager Kelsey Meyers. “We are honored to receive their support and they will be recognized at the site. We will update members of the group as we reach milestones.”

To donate to the project or to sponsor an area of the project contact Kelsey Meyers at the Muscatine County Fair Office at 319-627-2414 or at muscatinecountyfair@gmail.com
