Vickie L. Anderson, 70, of Moscow, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, due to complications of Leukemia. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Global Methodist Church in Muscatine.  Burial took place in Klein Cemetery, Moscow. Memorial contributions may be made to Spangler Chapel or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her memory.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Vickie was born in Muscatine on Sept. 9, 1953, to Earl and Ramona “Monie” (Laschanzky) Denkman.

Vickie married Dennis L. Anderson on Oct. 16, 1976, at Spangler Chapel.

Vickie graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1971.  She attended Muscatine Community College and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan with a bachelor’s degree in education.

She retired in 2016 from West Liberty Community Schools, where she taught special education for 20 years.  In early years, she worked for the City of Wilton as a clerk and spent several years as a stay-at-home Mom.

Vickie was an active member of Spangler Chapel.  She was Master of Bloomington Grange.  She was a talented musician, singing and playing the accordion, piano, and mandolin.  She was a member of the Country Church Friends Band.

Vickie enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and spending time at Long Lake.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She looked forward to Saturday morning “Pancake Breakfasts” and Sunday suppers with her family.

Vickie will be dearly missed by her husband, Dennis of Moscow; children: Michelle (Brian) Peters of Moscow, Brad (Lindsey) Anderson of Lone Tree, and Sarah (Alex) Adler of Wilton; seven grandchildren: Jayden and Grace Peters, Margaret, Jordy and William Anderson, and Jack and Russell Adler; father, Earl Denkman of Muscatine; and brother, Mike (Terri) Denkman of Moscow.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
