Sally Moeller
Sally Beth Moeller, age 98, went to her eternal home on Aug. 3, 2024. Her family members were at her side. She is the daughter of Raymond Watson and Jesse (Graham) Watson and was born and raised in Portage, Wis. She married Robert Alexander and bore three children: Robert, Laurie and Stuart. Following her husband’s death, she later married Gerald (Red) Moeller and lived 12 years in Wilton. Together they had two more children: Carol and Nancy.
Sally and Red bought the Right Place Resort in Pequot Lakes, Minn., in 1972. Sally was a familiar face at many area restaurants where she waitressed. She had many hobbies, including crochet, garage sales, rockhounding and letter writing. They spent 28 winters in Yuma, Ariz., and later summers near Portage. In her travels she had the conversation skills to meet a person at a rest stop and if they were from Iowa, Wisconsin or Minnesota, eventually they would know a mutual acquaintance.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and only brother, James. She is survived by all five of her children. Robert (Lori) Alexander, Laurie (Mark) Worland, Stuart Alexander, Carol (Mark) Engen and Nancy Moeller. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, with a luncheon to follow at the Community Center in downtown Wilton.
