Gloria Popham, 94, of Iowa City, formerly of North English, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at Briarwood Healthcare Center in Iowa City.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Good News Bible Church, Iowa City, with visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Hill Cemetery near North English. Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service in North English assisted the family with arrangements.
Gloria was born April 24, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel (Hulshizer) Sawyer.
She married Lynn G. Popham on April 22, 1955, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Scott (Donilee) Popham of Coralville, and Randy (Gin) Popham of Durant; two grandchildren, Tim of Davenport and Kimberly of Rock Island, Ill.; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim (Jill) Sawyer and Tom (Sandy) Sawyer.
